As the level designer for the project, I designed and created the play areas for the game. My designs facilitated stealth, parkour, and combat gameplay. I recreated historical areas of London from St. James's Park and the Devonshire House up to the Soho area and across the Thames. I designed detailed interiors filled with puzzles in the tailor shop and docks warehouses. All of my designs were backed with abundant historical research and references. Ask me about Staffordshire mantle dogs and historical road materials!
I worked hand-in-hand with our developers and our art team to ensure our gameplay and art direction meshed. I researched historical references for the art team to use for both prop and architecture designs, and worked with them to design modular building kits and engine tools to generate randomized splines of buildings, streamlining the workflow for designing the city as a whole.
I also created and maintained materials across the project. I made materials that scaled with object size to maintain consistent texture scaling (e.g. for road and architecture pieces that may be scaled to fit an area), and triplanar/worldspace materials to ensure alignment of textures between objects like walls, as well as materials that worked for various texture set configurations.
In February 2022, I was promoted to producer (in addition to remaining the team's level designer). I led the team under our project manager, and handled sprint planning, daily standups, code review, and managed our GitHub and Jira.
